Children & Teens

More About Children & Teens

Young people need special consideration where pain and injuries are concerned. They arenโ€™t just โ€˜mini adultsโ€™. They are growing, developing and changing at different rates at different times and this comes with a range of potential issues that need to be factored in.

Children and teens tend to come to us with 2 typical problems. Either a specific injury as a result of a fall, sports injury, accident or event, like a sprained ankle, after a fracture or a muscle or joint strain. Or, with a โ€˜growing painโ€™, typically felt in knees and ankles that has developed over time or accompanies a period of rapid growth.

Whatever your worries or concerns, we make sure we get to the root of the problem and help you and your child or teen understand exactly whatโ€™s going on. We can then use a range of treatments or services to support their recovery and get them back to doing what they love!

Why Choose

goPhysio

Donโ€™t just take our word for it, we have hundreds of happy patients willing to share their thoughts on their goPhysio experiences.

Took my 16 year old son to goPhysio โ€“ Will was very thorough with the consultation before taking out some of the tension in his back. He also gave him some exercises and stretches to do at home. Would highly recommend.

Wear something comfortable and appropriate for the area of your injury to be assessed thoroughly e.g. shorts for a knee injury. Your modesty will be respected at all times.
Payment is due at the end of every appointment. Our preferred method of payment is by card but we can also take payment online securely via Stripe. We can email over a copy of your receipt if you need it. We do not work directly with any private medical insurance companies. Depending on your policy, you may be able to claim back your fees. We advise that you check the full details of your policy prior to booking an appointment.

There have been many changes with the way health insurance companies cover physiotherapy recently. Subsequently, we require all patients to pay for their physiotherapy appointements up front per appointment. We will provide you with a printed receipt which includes your Physiotherapistโ€™s HCPC number, which you can then provide to your individual insurance company. Depending on your individual policy, you may be able to reclaim some or all of your fees. Policies and cover varies widely now and we are unable to accept any responsibility for the amount you may be able to recaim from your insurance company. You will be responsible for any shortfall.

If you are looking to claim back your fees through your health insurance company, please do let us know, as not all our Clinicains are recognised by health insurance.

We understand that sometimes things come up, however we would appreciate as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. We just ask that you give us a minimum of 24 hrs notice of any changes to your appointment so that we can re-allocate the appointment. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a charge. Appointment slots are very valuable and without adequate notice that appointment canโ€™t be used for another patient. We send out both text message & email appointment reminders to help you remember your appointment time.

Please just give us a call or drop us an email if youโ€™d like to change your appointment.

Not really, just yourself! However, if you have had any tests or investigations related to your problem (like a scan or X Ray), it can be helpful to bring these along. If you are being assessed for an injury which uses some equipment, it may be useful to bring this along e.g. running footwear.
