Custom Orthotics

Orthotics are foot supports or insoles, that fit in your shoes to help support your foot position and help you your move more efficiently, if your feet are contributing to any aches, pains or injuries you may have. If you come to see us with foot and ankle pain such as plantar fasciitis or achilles tendon pain, then weโ€™ll look very closely at your feet. However, there are many other problems further up your body where foot issues can also play a part.

At goPhysio we can carry out a computerised foot scan, that will show us exactly how your feet are working to support your body. We combine this with a full assessment so we get the whole picture. If we think orthotics might help you, we can provide you with a customised insole.

To find out more and book a computerised foot scan to see if you’d benefit from orthotics, please call us on 023 8025 3317.

The Benefits Of Orthotics

We use a โ€˜Gaitscanโ€™ system to measure and analyse how your feet work. The computer analysis is combined with a physical assessment. We will look at your feet and legs, analyse your movement, measure your foot position and put all this together in the bigger picture with your symptoms & lifestyle.

This huge amount of information will enable us to prescribe the best custom orthotic for you and your lifestyle, made just for you. Orthotics improve foot efficiency, helping improve lower limb alignment and reduce stress on the problem area. Orthotics can help:

  • Relieve your pain
  • Provide more comfort
  • You move more efficiently
  • Resolve ongoing or recurrent injuries

Payment is due at the end of every appointment. Our preferred method of payment is by card but we can also take payment online securely via Stripe. We can email over a copy of your receipt if you need it. We do not work directly with any private medical insurance companies. Depending on your policy, you may be able to claim back your fees. We advise that you check the full details of your policy prior to booking an appointment.

There have been many changes with the way health insurance companies cover physiotherapy recently. Subsequently, we require all patients to pay for their physiotherapy appointements up front per appointment. We will provide you with a printed receipt which includes your Physiotherapistโ€™s HCPC number, which you can then provide to your individual insurance company. Depending on your individual policy, you may be able to reclaim some or all of your fees. Policies and cover varies widely now and we are unable to accept any responsibility for the amount you may be able to recaim from your insurance company. You will be responsible for any shortfall.

If you are looking to claim back your fees through your health insurance company, please do let us know, as not all our Clinicains are recognised by health insurance.

We understand that sometimes things come up, however we would appreciate as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. We just ask that you give us a minimum of 24 hrs notice of any changes to your appointment so that we can re-allocate the appointment. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a charge. Appointment slots are very valuable and without adequate notice that appointment canโ€™t be used for another patient. We send out both text message & email appointment reminders to help you remember your appointment time.

Please just give us a call or drop us an email if youโ€™d like to change your appointment.

Not really, just yourself! However, if you have had any tests or investigations related to your problem (like a scan or X Ray), it can be helpful to bring these along. If you are being assessed for an injury which uses some equipment, it may be useful to bring this along e.g. running footwear.
