We just wanted to make you aware of some changes at the clinic with regards to seeing patients with private medical insurance (PMI), such as Bupa, AXA PPP, Vitality etc.
Over recent years, there have been significant changes in the landscape of the PMI sector. We have experienced that the PMI companies have been imposing greater restrictions on the number of sessions they are authorising, reducing the amount of cover they provide and fees they pay and also demanding more from providers such as ourselves in terms of reports and administration.
We pride ourselves in offering only the best possible standards of care and never want to cut corners. Unfortunately, as a result of the changes in the PMI sector, we have made the decision that we are no longer able to work with these companies directly. This was not an easy decision to make, as we appreciate that many people do have PMI and value being able to use this cover. However, we do not want to jeopardise the care and level of service that we provide and feel that we have no alternative.
Many PMI companies do allow policy holders to pay directly for physiotherapy and claim this back from the insurance company. This depends on your individual policy, level of cover and terms. We would advise that you contact your insurance company directly to check your individual cover prior to booking an appointment.
We apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience that this may cause but hope that you understand the rationale behind making this decision.
Kind Regards
The gophysio Team
