Post Surgery

More about post surgery

If you’ve had joint replacement surgery, like a hip or knee replacement, or surgery such as a ligament repair or reconstruction, or following a fracture – we are here to help you.

Unfortunately, post-op physio in the NHS is now very limited – you’ll often just receive a sheet of exercises to do at home at best.

If you’ve had surgery, it can be a very worrying and confusing time; What should you do? What can and can’t you do? Should you be doing any specific exercises? We can help guide you through the post-op period and beyond, helping your recovery from surgery and getting back to doing the things you enjoy.

We can even help you before surgery, which can help you get the best possible outcomes by ensuring you are fully prepared, as strong as possible, and confident about your recovery. This is known as pre-hab.

Why choose goPhysio?

Don’t just take our word for it, we have hundreds of happy patients willing to share their thoughts on their goPhysio experiences. You can read more reviews here.

I had a physio appointment following an operation for a fractured shoulder. I found Hugo to be very knowledgeable and experienced. He also was very helpful because he not only sent me physio exercises but also Pilates routines that I could do without harming my shoulder. The handouts that were sent were very professional and in a variety of formats. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend goPhysio.

I’ve been waiting a long time for surgery and feeling weaker and weaker. I’m worried my recovery will be more difficult. Is there anything you can do to help?
This is something we regularly see. Whilst you are waiting for surgery, it is a great opportunity to invest in being as strong and prepared as you can. This may be through doing a simple exercise routine to help make sure you maintain and improve muscle strength in certain areas or some stretches or mobility exercises.
