International Women’s Day 2024

International Women’s Day. It’s a day about celebrating women’s achievements, raising awareness about discrimination and taking action to drive gender parity. We’re thankful here at goPhysio to have so many wonderful women working at the clinic, who all do an incredible job with patients and colleagues alike. International Women’s Day has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD id not country, group or organisation specific.

We asked the team of any female figures in their lives who inspire them, whether it be family, friends or those in the public eye. Have a read to see who they came up with.

“My Mum is an absolute inspiration. She is always so positive, even in the face of adversity and life’s challenges. Her positivity and resilience is infectious, she just cracks on! She will always go out of her way to help others and will never say no (even though she should!).”

“The most inspiring woman in my life is my gran”

“My mum – Through determination and support she completed a degree and is constantly progressing her career regardless of how hard it was along the way all whilst raising me along with the help from my grandparents. She has always been supportive and taught me to always do my best, be strong and independent, and treat others the way I want to be treated.”

“Shirley Valentine, I know it is just a fictional character but just find her inspiring. She walked away from her marriage to do something she wanted to do after being a slave to the housework, she just wanted to be herself and she went off and did it, to make herself feel better.”

“Admittedly she’s not the only inspiring woman in my life but singer songwriter Raye feels like ‘woman of the moment’. Winning a whopping 6 BRIT Awards this month, and having such huge success in the last 12 months due to sticking by her guns, saying No when she felt uncomfortable and taking the risk to go out on her own as an independent artist! Shows hard work, determination and true grit to believe you’re better than the situation you’re currently in. It’s certainly paid off. Go RAYE!”

I had a really good visit to GoPhysio. I have had sciatica for two months and it wasn't showing any signs of improvement. Sophie gave me a thorough assessment and then provided acupuncture and ultra sound. After one visit my sciatica has almost gone. I am really pleased.

Everyone at go physio is so helpful & friendly. I have been receiving treatment for golfers elbow from Hannah Gelder, and couldn’t be happier, I wish I had gone earlier! She explains everything well, and guides you through exercises etc. very amiable and makes you feel at ease. Highly recommend

I have been attending goPhysio for about two years. As a company they are very professional and provide a very good level of service to include efficiency and courtesy and are always consistent in their approach. This very much includes the admin /reception team whom are the first people you make contact with. My Physio has excellent knowledge and has assisted me with sound advice and ongoing exercise regimes which are achievable and realistic. This has supported me well in between appointments. Although always busy I am normally able to see Roz at a mutually convenient time. Thank you to all the team
