Soft Tissue Therapist

I qualified in 2025 with a Level 4 Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy qualification and am currently working towards my BSc in Sport and Exercise Therapy at Southampton Solent University, as well as my Level 5 Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy.

At goPhysio, I help people with muscle tightness, soreness, stress-related tension and ongoing aches that are affecting everyday life, work, exercise or sport. I have a particular interest in low back pain, neck and shoulder tightness, tension headaches, plantar fasciitis, calf tightness, muscle strains and diagnosed sports injuries.

My approach is holistic, evidence-based and collaborative. Weโ€™ll talk through what has brought you in, what you are hoping to get from the session and any concerns you may have. Iโ€™ll then use a short posture and movement assessment to guide your treatment, before moving into hands-on sports massage and soft tissue techniques tailored to you.

I believe massage and soft tissue therapy should feel supportive, not intimidating. Many people expect sports massage to be unbearably painful or have a โ€œno pain, no gainโ€ mindset, which can make them feel nervous before treatment. While I do use deep, targeted techniques where appropriate, I also believe relaxation, reassurance and stress relief can play an important role in recovery.

Soft tissue therapy is an umbrella term for a range of hands-on techniques, including myofascial release, assisted stretching and targeted soft tissue work. The aim is to help reduce tension, improve movement, support recovery and provide both physical and psychological relief. It often works best alongside movement, exercise and wider support, especially for longer-term issues.

I enjoy working with anyone and everyone who comes through the door. Massage is highly personal, so no two sessions are ever the same. I regularly work with athletes and active individuals, including footballers and runners, as well as people with desk-based jobs, persistent muscle tension or stress-related tightness.

I am also a qualified Level 2 Gym Instructor and have completed training in Clinical and Athletic Sports Taping. At goPhysio, treatment may include sports massage, soft tissue therapy, assisted stretching, taping advice and support alongside wider exercise rehabilitation where appropriate.

Patients often come to me worried that their pain will not resolve because it has been there for a long time or because they have already tried different approaches without lasting relief. My aim is to listen, reassure and help you understand that pain is complex, multifactorial and not something you need to deal with alone.

Patients often say they appreciate that I take time to listen and that they feel relaxed after treatment โ€” sometimes even realising they were carrying more stress than they thought.

Outside of work, my main passion is snowboarding. I love the peace and quiet of going down the mountain, and I have my own pink snowboard. I also enjoy yoga and mindful relaxation.

I had a really good visit to GoPhysio. I have had sciatica for two months and it wasn't showing any signs of improvement. Sophie gave me a thorough assessment and then provided acupuncture and ultra sound. After one visit my sciatica has almost gone. I am really pleased.

I have been attending goPhysio for about two years. As a company they are very professional and provide a very good level of service to include efficiency and courtesy and are always consistent in their approach. This very much includes the admin /reception team whom are the first people you make contact with. My Physio has excellent knowledge and has assisted me with sound advice and ongoing exercise regimes which are achievable and realistic. This has supported me well in between appointments. Although always busy I am normally able to see Roz at a mutually convenient time. Thank you to all the team
