Start Your Pilates Journey
Whether you’re completely new to Pilates or returning after a break, we’ll help you find the right starting point. Our APPI-trained Clinical Pilates instructors will guide you through every step, from your first one-to-one session to joining one of our welcoming small group Mat or Reformer Pilates classes in Chandlers Ford.
Why Choose Clinical Pilates at goPhysio?
Rather than simply running fitness classes, we provide specialist Clinical Pilates led by APPI-trained healthcare professionals.
Our instructors are experienced Physiotherapists and Sports & Rehabilitation Therapists who understand pain, injury, rehabilitation and movement. This means every exercise can be adapted to suit your individual needs, helping you move safely while building strength, confidence and long-term health.
Combined with our small class sizes and dedicated air-conditioned Pilates studio in the heart of Chandlers Ford, you’ll receive a level of individual support that’s difficult to find in larger fitness classes.
How do I get started with Clinical Pilates?
1. Contact our Pilates team
Call us on 023 8025 3317 or email pilates@gophysiotherapy.co.uk. We’ll ask about your previous Pilates experience, goals, injuries or health concerns and whether you are interested in Mat or Reformer Pilates.
2. Attend your one-to-one Pilates induction
Everyone new to goPhysio begins with individual sessions. Mat Pilates usually starts with one 45-minute induction, while Reformer Pilates may require up to three one-to-one sessions. This helps you learn the basics, build confidence and get more from your group classes.
3. Choose your regular class or continue one-to-one
Once you are ready, we’ll help you find a suitable day and time. You can join a regular small group class, choose a more flexible option or continue with one-to-one Clinical Pilates if that suits you better.
Which Pilates is right for you?
Mat Pilates
- Great if you can comfortably get on and off the floor.
- Improve strength, flexibility and core control.
- Small classes using mats and Pilates equipment.
- Ideal for most beginners.
Reformer Pilates
- Uses specialist spring resistance equipment.
- Adjustable support and challenge.
- Excellent if you prefer equipment-based exercise.
- Suitable for beginners and rehabilitation.
Learn more about Reformer Pilates
Not sure? Don’t worry – you don’t need to decide before contacting us. Our Pilates team will discuss your goals, experience and any injuries before recommending the most appropriate starting point.
We also offer Chair Pilates. This works a little differently to Mat and Reformer. Because it’s more accessible, you can simply drop in for a free first class without an induction. Mat and Reformer start with a one-to-one session first, so we can make sure you’re using the equipment safely and getting the most from every class.
