Clinical Mat Pilates

Clinical Mat Pilates Classes

COVID-19 Tier 4 UPDATE: From 26th December 2020, we are unable to offer small group Pilates. During this time we can offer 1-2-1 sessions or online classes only.

goPhysio has offered Clinical Mat Pilates classes in Chandlers Ford since 2011. We now offer an extensive mat Pilates timetable from our spacious, air conditioned studio – with classes throughout the week, inlcuding evenings.

Who are Clinical Mat Pilates Classes for?
Almost everyone could benefit from taking part in Pilates. The exercises can be adapted for all ages and levels of fitness, whether you’re recovering from an injury, pregnant, retired or a competitive athlete. If you tend to suffer with recurrent back or neck pain, taking part in regular Pilates can really help. In fact, it’s a great way to ward off or help recovery form many injuries as it really focuses on muscle control, movement and developing strength and flexibility throughout the whole body.

Mat Pilates is particularly great for helping:

A
People with ongoing or recurrent back or neck problems
A
Long term musculoskeletal pain and conditions such as arthritis
A
Athletes and regular exercisers, such as runners, who want to learn how to move well and efficiently, wanting to improve their sporting performance
A
Pro-active individuals who want to enhance their physical durability and prevent musculoskeletal injuries
A
Anyone who wants to improve their strength, stability, co-ordination and balance
A
Rehabilitation following an injury
A
Improve posture and postural awareness

What does a mat Pilates class involve?

All of our mat Pilates sessions at goPhysio are ‘Clinical’ Pilates. This gives our Pilates service a unique edge, as the power of Pilates is combined with expert knowledge and experience that all of our Clinical Instructors have, in how the body works, movement science, injury and recovery. All of our Instrictors are graduate Physiotherapists or Sports & Rehabilitation Therapists, who have completed extensive Pilates training with World leaders in clinical Pilates, the APPI.

During our mat Pilates classes, you will work through a series of exercises, aimed at working your ‘core’ muscles. Exercises can be on the mat and in standing and may involve the use of small weighted Pilates balls, ‘magic circles’ and resistance band to add interest, variety and challenge to your class.

All of our courses are progressive and encourage you to develop at your own pace.

Our classes are small (currently 4 people maximum due to social distancing measures).so you always have close supervision and ‘hands on’ guidance when you need it to help make sure you get the most from the classes

How do I get started?

Before joining one of our Pilates classes at goPhysio, you’ll need to come into the clinic for a Pilates induction session. This is essential so we can get to know you, discuss any injuries or conditions we need to be aware of, find out exactly what you want to acheive by coming to Pilates and teach you the basics before you start. This is commonplace for any Clinical Pilates classes and will really help you get the most out of the classes.

This session costs £49. However, if you sign up as a Regular Class Member and pay for your first month’s membership at the time of your induction, this fee is waived.

To book your induction session, please give us a call on 023 8025 3317 or book online here
