Positive Steps

It is well documented that maintaining exercise and activity levels is crucial to help people stay independent and in good health as they age. Our Postive Steps classes, are specifically targeted at older men and ladies who are pro-active about taking care of their bodies and staying physically well.

Who is Positive Steps for? 

Positive Steps is ideal for:

  • Men or ladies over 60, who want to exercise in a supportive and comfortable environment 
  • People who want to maintain or improve their muscle strength, flexibility, balance or fitness levels
  • Those who may have had hip or knee surgery and want to do some regular, supervised exercise as part of their rehabilitation 
  • Those waiting for surgery who want to try and improve their potential once they have surgery
  • People with conditions such as osteoarthritis or osteoporosis, for whom exercise is a highly effective treatment
  • Those who want to feel more confident exercising
  • Active individuals who want to keep enjoying their physical capabilities! 

What does Positive Steps involve? 

Positive Steps is a weekly, supervised, small group exercise programme held at goPhysio in Chandlers Ford. The weekly Positive Steps sessions consists of:

  • A gentle warm up and 50 minutes of a circuit based exercise class led by one of our Physiotherapists or Sports and Rehabilitation Therapists
  • A range of exercises designed to improve your fitness, strength, flexibility, mobility, posture and balance
  • Education and advice to help you learn more about exercising as you age 

There is a maximum of 6 people per session, so that the sessions are well supervised and you can have the benefit of being both well supported and progressed and enjoying exercising with other people. The sessions are fun and social! 

When is Positive Steps? 

The weekly class is held every Wednesday from 11am - 12pm.

How do I book Positive Steps?

Bookings for Positive Steps classes are made directly through the clinic. Each session costs £12.50. There is no long term committment, classes can be attended on a 'pay as you go' basis. 

Your first class is free - so why not book in and give it a try, see if it's right for you. 

Before you come along to your first class, please complete this form, so that the Therapist can find out a little more about you and your goals and tailor the classes accordingly.
